A 17th Century Carved Oak Door Lintel.

Recently purchased in Norfolk a light oak door lintel carved with the initials TH and dated 1685 ,the number 8 is carved with a triangular top over a round base which is a sign of love as the number 8 is an Angel number meaning harmony ,love and balance and would have been carved this way to celebrate a birth or a marriage but as there are just the single pair of initials i would lean more to a birth.

A nice light oak colour with traces of red polychrome/paint in the creases.

5.5" (14cm)  Deep

It would be nice to think that this could easily be built back into a house and used for its original purpose.
