Caused from its constance use over the centuries and the poor choice of wood from its creater.

Three of the legs have worm dammage to the sap line and the top has split down the center with wear showing that a large backside sat on this stool for all there life leaving there imprint.

This all contributes to the look and life of this stool,it shows a good natural colour and is still solid and useable it has not given up the fight after all these years.
