  1. Happy New Year .

Its that time again when one sits down and knows he has indulged to excess on Christmas feasts and family activities and needs to get back to work to maintain that trim figure (not) and to work out a plan of action for the coming months ahead ,where have i not searched and where can i search and will the leads from last year pay off this year ? .

Well time will tell and i have started already with buying this morning a fun 17th century folky carving of a pig ,well start as you mean to go on i say  and i will be scratching around at Ardingly fair on the 5th so get ready for the next update which will be around the 10th .

My aim this year is to list eight items a month with my usual selection of early oak furniture and carvings but also to add Country house pieces ,ones with decorative appeal and ones that have worked hard and now need to be admired for the surface there life has left upon them.

I can guarantee that the items chosen will all fit together and compliment each other. It is a look that i have been experimenting with and i have just finished a country house look at The Star pub in Waldron which i enjoyed and having the shop for the past year it has been fun mixing it up a bit .

Still theres the future and of course we have to remember the past year ,a year for me that was as rewarding as always with the excitement of certain finds to include the 15th century French High Gothic Dressoir and the pair of Tudor carvings from Flaxley Abbey among others and meeting new faces and of course keeping in touch with the old ones ,so lets do it again this year.

A few images from the past year ,ones that made me smile ,hopefully they will have the same affect on you

  2. It has been a while but i thought i would add a few comments regarding my latest update.

I like to call it Wolf Hall Chic

I have just had the pleasure in sourcing three Tudor oak coffers (listed) and a wonderful pair of Tudor Corbels depicting a gentleman which i am currently researching which is becoming quite exciting so please keep an eye as it will be listed soon.

Anyway the chests one is a rare example of a Henry VIII carved board chest with a tusk tennon base ,a high board chest with possible connections to The National Trust Property Townend in Cumbria and last but by no means least a good example of a 16th century English linenfold chest.

I am planning to exhibit at two fairs this year which i will update when confirmed and at last the sun is shining so its picture time again....
